Many people imagine stage hypnosis. That's entertainment, but how I work with clients is therapeutic, safe, collaborative and focussed on your goals. It's to help you achieve real and positive change. No fob watches, no audience, no clucking like a chicken, just results.
Hypnotherapy can benefit anyone who is looking to improve their mental health or overcome certain habits or behaviours. It can help manage Anxiety, phobias, gambling and smoking cessation
1. Is hypnotherapy a form of mind control? No, you stay completely aware and in control throughout. Hypnosis is simply a relaxed focus state, similar to daydreaming. You can open your eyes, move, speak, or stop the trance session at any time.
2. Can I get stuck in a trance? No, trance is just a natural state of mind many times a day. You cannot be left in trance. Again, you remain fully in control.
3. Will I reveal personal secrets? No, you won't reveal pin codes and passwords. Hypnosis doesn't override privacy. It doesn't work in that way. It's a safe, therapeutic process.
4. Is it in any way like stage hypnosis? No, it's not entertainment. It's a therapeutic technique grounded in neuro science to help you deal with life's challenges in a way tailored to your needs.
5. Can it make people do embarrassing things? No, once again, no instant chicken impersonations, just solution focussed therapy.
6. Will I lose consciousness? No, you would remain lightly aware of my voice and your thoughts as you relax pleasantly, it feels a bit like drifting off to sleep, but you remain responsive.
7 What does hypnosis feel like? Most people describe a deep sense of Calm, gently daydreaming as their mind quietens and their worries ebb away, which is it's purpose. You may feel a tiny bit sleepy for about twenty minutes after, but it is a safe and natural state with no side effects.
8. What if I can't relax? This isn't an uncommon question, but hypnosis doesn't require you to force yourself to relax. It's a gentle natural process, you can allow your mind to follow it.
9. Is hypnosis safe? Yes, it's a natural state of relaxed focus, there are no side effects. You always remain in control.
10. I don't think I can be 'hypnotised', so could it work for me? Yes, it can still work, it's a similar natural state you achieve when absorbed in a good book, doing a familiar task or driving a well known route.
